At the Sony PlayStation Day 2008 event in London today, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s CEO David Reeves announced that the highy-anticipated Killzone 2 will not be released until February 2009. The game was originally planned to be released sometime in September of this year.
According to a Sony spokesperson, they “haven’t made any announcements for Killzone 2’s release date in North America,” but given the fact that most major Playstation titles usually launch within the same time frame in both Europe and North America, you can probably go ahead and assume the game will be released here in February as well.
Is the game’s development behind schedule, or is Sony simply trying to space out it’s two big shooters, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2? My guess is thats it’s a combination of the two.
